Chess has grown immensely in popularity and taken on a brand-new face over the last few years but can still be incredibly intimidating to learn.

In our recreational chess club, we focus on creating a relaxing and fun environment where kids can play, learn, and foster meaningful connections regardless of skill level or previous experience.

Facilitated by Rachel Halpern, this two-hour program is geared towards kids on the autism spectrum, providing a safe and enriching space cognizant of both learning differences and sensory needs.

Cancellation Policy

Classes are non-refundable and you cannot reschedule or transfer to another class. Our facilitators customize, purchase and prepare the materials for each participant in advance.

If you would like to send someone else in your place, that’s absolutely okay, however we will need for you to provide their name, phone number and email address 24 hours before the class scheduled time either by email or phone. We are unable to transfer a credit after the class date has passed.

Activities For All!

Beaches Sandbox offers a wide variety of high-quality programming. Our goal is for everyone to be able to participate in these programs, regardless of their financial status. The Beaches Sandbox Financial Assistance Program is put in place to allow those who otherwise could not afford to participate, access to all programs offered at the centre.
