Programs & registration

How do I find the right program?

Start with Explore Programs. You can browse by the person you are bringing or by the kind of experience you want. Each program page explains who it is for and shows current dates and registration options.

How do I register?

Choose a program on our website and use its registration link. Most registrations are completed through ActiveNet. Yoga & Fitness and certain related classes may use Mindbody. The program listing will take you to the correct system.

Do I need to register in advance?

It depends on the program. Some require advance registration, while others may be offered as drop-ins or free community activities. Check the individual listing before you arrive.

What if a program is full?

The registration listing will show current availability and any waitlist option that is available. If you are unsure what to do next, contact us and we will help you look at alternatives.

What if I am not sure which program is right for me or my child?

Tell us the participant’s age, interests and anything that would help us understand what you are looking for. A real person from the Sandbox team will help point you in the right direction.

Cost & financial assistance

Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Financial assistance may be available for eligible paid programs, depending on available funding, program eligibility and space. Requests are handled privately, and the online request form does not ask for financial documents.

Should I register before asking for financial assistance?

We recommend asking about assistance before registering. Submit a short request and a Sandbox team member will follow up about what support may be available and the next step.

Visiting the Sandbox

Where is Beaches Sandbox?

We are at 2181 Queen Street East in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes. A Green P parking lot is behind the building and accessed from Lee Avenue. Street parking is also available nearby, and there is a Bike Share Toronto station in the Green P lot.

Can I get there by TTC?

Yes. Beaches Sandbox is served by the 501 and 301 Queen streetcars and the 64 Main bus.

What are your hours?

Programs run during the day, evenings and weekends.

Guest Services hours:
Monday–Friday: 9:00 am–9:00 pm
Saturday–Sunday: 9:00 am–5:00 pm

Individual program times vary, so check your program listing before arriving.

Accessibility

Is Beaches Sandbox accessible?

Yes. The building includes a step-free Queen Street entrance with automatic door operators, elevator access to program floors, universal accessible washrooms and Braille signage.

Can you accommodate individual accessibility or participation needs?

Depending on the program, our team may be able to help with mobility, seated or adapted participation, sensory needs, communication preferences, learning or developmental needs and other participation supports. Contact us before registering or visiting so we can understand what would help and explain what may be possible.

Can I attend with a support person or service animal?

Support persons and service animals are welcome in accordance with applicable accessibility requirements. Please contact us before registering so we can discuss any program-specific arrangements.

Camps & PA Days

What should I know before registering for camp?

Each camp listing includes the age range, dates, daily schedule and availability. Information about lunch, field trips, aftercare, forms, pickup and cancellations is included where applicable.

What should my child bring to camp?

What is needed can vary by camp. Check the individual camp information before the first day for food, clothing, equipment, forms and anything else your camper should bring. If you are unsure, ask the Camp Team.

Yoga & Fitness

I am new to yoga or group fitness. Can I still come?

Absolutely. Offerings include different styles, intensities and experience levels. Tell us whether you are looking for strength, mobility, energy, balance or calm, and we will help you find a welcoming place to start.

Can I take just one Yoga & Fitness class?

Current adult options may include single-class registration as well as multi-class passes. Check the current class listing for pricing and availability.

Changes, cancellations & updates

What if I need to change or cancel a registration?

Cancellation, transfer and refund conditions can vary by program. Check the information provided with your registration or contact the Sandbox team before making a change.

Forms & resources

Forms & waivers

Waivers and participation requirements are normally handled through the applicable registration process. If a Sandbox team member has asked you to complete a printable waiver, use the current forms below. Contact us if you are not sure which process applies.
