Help little ones feel ready to play and their grown-ups feel welcome. Volunteers prepare the room, greet families and support a friendly, organized morning.
The role at a glance.
Location: Beaches Sandbox, 2181 Queen Street East.
Schedule: Monday–Friday mornings.
Commitment: one four-hour shift per week, approximately 9:00 am–1:00 pm.
Requirements: ages 18+ and a Vulnerable Sector Check before beginning the role.
What you’ll do
- Set up the playroom before families arrive
- Welcome children and caregivers
- Help keep the room safe, organized and running smoothly
- Lead a short story or circle-time activity
- Tidy and reset the space after the program
You might be a great fit if you…
- Enjoy spending time with young children and families
- Are friendly, dependable and comfortable meeting new people
- Can lead a simple story or group activity
- Are comfortable respectfully reinforcing playroom guidelines
- Can manage setup and cleanup independently
Experience with children or community programs is helpful, but not essential.
